The World Youth Choir (WYC) is original in its concept, bringing together talented young singers aged 17 - 26 each year from all over the world. Since its creation in 1989, the WYC has established itself as one of the most remarkable musical and intercultural experiences offered to young musicians, meeting annually for intense rehearsals followed by an international concert tour. The diversity of the choir's conductors and repertoire reflects the cultural diversity of its singers. In 1996, UNESCO honoured the WYC with the title Artist for Peace, recognizing the WYC's success as a platform for intercultural dialogue through music. |
